All my interviews have now been filmed, and I’m ready to begin the editing process. While working on these, I’ve also written my feature, which is now in its final stages with just a few tweaks left to complete.
The next step is creating a 2-minute audio and a 2-minute video piece. Immigration is such a big topic that it’s impossible to cover everything within a 2,500-word feature. To provide more context and explore themes I couldn’t fully delve into in the feature, I plan to include additional details in the audio and video segments.
Having filmed all my interviews, it feels like a waste not to use as much of the material as possible. For any content that doesn’t make it into the feature, video, or audio pieces, I’m considering creating short interview clips that would be alongside the feature. This approach allows me to make the most of my recorded interviews while adding an interactive element to the project.
As I start editing, I feel confident in my feature and writing abilities. However, I’m less certain about my editing skills, so I’m hoping the video and audio pieces turn out well. It’s a challenge, but I’m excited to see it all come together.
