My Major Multimedia Project
During my first three months of third year, one of my key assignments involved creating a 2,500-word online feature, 2-minute audio content, 2-minute video content and a 1,000-word critical reflection.
The focus of my project was on the complex and often misunderstood topic of immigration. Through interviews with a diverse range of individuals, I aimed to showcase voices filled with resilience, determination and a commitment to being heard.
Immigration is a big and often misunderstood subject. The term "immigrant" can trigger a range of reactions, shaped by media portrayals, personal experiences and societal stereotypes. These misconceptions often reinforce harmful and inaccurate stereotypes. Through my project, I wanted to challenge these narratives by sharing stories that inspire empathy and promote a deeper understanding of immigration.
This project was more than an academic requirement, but it was an opportunity to explore a topic that I’m deeply passionate about and contribute to a broader conversation about inclusion and diversity. While it was challenging, the experience has been incredibly rewarding.
To share my journey in more detail, I created a dedicated website to document the process, reflect on my experiences, and blog about the behind-the-scenes work that went into bringing this project to life.
